The Trekking Group Elevates Outdoor Adventure in the Ottawa - Gatineau Region

New ecotourism project will position Ottawa - Gatineau as a top destination for innovation and adventure

Montréal, Monday, March 24, 2025 – The Trekking Group has unveiled a $2.6-million ecotourism development project at Arbraska Laflèche Park, a 30-minute drive from Ottawa in the Outaouais region. Over the next year, the new adventure destination will debut three family-friendly experiences, both aerial and underground: uplå (a world of nets), obā (underground immersion), and nesta (aerial camping).

uplå | North America’s Largest Outdoor Trampolines – Launching June 2025

Situated amid the treetops of a lush mountain forest, uplå Laflèche invites visitors to bounce, slide, and climb through a 12,00-square-foot playground in the sky—the biggest in North America. Protected by a canopy of nets, the elevated adventure features nine bouncing zones—including two multi-level areas—complete with three slides, two vertical tunnels, and two access ramps. The second uplå in Québec, uplå Laflèche facilitates a closer connection with nature through dynamic movement and playful exploration.

obā | Underground Immersion – Launching Fall 2025

This fall, obā will debut in Laflèche Cave—the largest cave in the Canadian Shield. A world first, the immersive journey combines captivating storytelling, ethereal soundscapes, and breathtaking light displays to animate over 20,000 years of human history. Every step leads to an unforgettable educational adventure, with each cave wall uncovering a forgotten chapter of the earth’s past.

obā is a collaboration between The Trekking Group, Québec-based Eden Creative—a creative studio specializing in immersive experiences and interactive works—and Overall, a multidisciplinary design firm.

nesta | Sleep Between Sky and Earth – Launching Spring 2026

Visitors eager to extend their stay in Arbraska Laflèche Park can enjoy nesta, an overnight experience hosted in six spherical tents suspended high in the trees. The aerial camping experience—whose dreamlike setting has never before been seen in North America—encourages guests to disconnect from the hustle and bustle and revel in a night of serenity under the stars.

“This is a one-of-a-kind adventure destination attracting families from across Québec and around the world to the beautiful Outaouais region,” says Jean-François Couture, Chief of Marketing and Development at The Trekking Group. “The project’s three innovative attractions celebrate nature, encourage physical activity, and showcase The Trekking Group’s expertise in active entertainment.”
